Alison Ann Sweeney, an American actress and director of reality TV shows also writes. Sweeney gained fame for her character Samantha Sami Brady (as she was popularly known in The NBC soap Days of Our Lives) which she acted under contract. In 1999, Sweeney decided she'd had enough. She eschewed fads such as the grapefruit and cabbage soup diets, changed her lifestyle to be healthier, such as cutting out sugary sodas and started going to boot camp-style gym classes.
